Victoria Sponge Wedding Cake

Today we decided to try something different from the cupcakes which we make all of the time...

We wanted to make a big cake, but one that was slightly different! I have never been a fan of overly manicured wedding cakes, and so it only seemed right that my attempt would be a slightly more rustic one!

This cake was so much fun to make, particularly when we got to eat all of the left over fruit!

So here it is... Our 4 tier Victoria Sponge cake with berries :)

Enjoy

  1. Hi

Did you just pile the cakes on top of each other or did you stablize them?

    Thanks

    1. Hi! Thanks for your question.

Each tier is on a very thin board, which is supported by a dowel in the middle of the tier below. The sponge is relatively soft and so if you towered the sponges on top of each other I am fairly sure they would be unable to support each other.

      Happy baking!

  2. Hi. Do you actually make this style cake for weddings or was it just a bit of fun? We are looking for just that style for our wedding but finding it hard to find a supplier.
